Ok but it wasn’t so much his comment as some of the others I’ve seen on Twitter over the last few weeks. Seriously dumb **** Twitter nonsense like the exchanges with Georgia’s mom. You have to realize you can’t win that exchange and makes me wonder how some other f these people ever got into college much less VT. Again, if you can’t be better, realize your words and actions may actually negatively impact the thing you purport to support.

Correct, he doesn’t owe anyone anything, but it is extremely common for coaches to say goodbye in some shape or form. It left a sour taste in my mouth as a fan because there were many times he called on us fans to show up and show out for the games. Hokie nation did that. I don’t think people are “entitled” to expect a goodbye from a coach that Hokie nation loved and respected a hell of a lot.

You are all way too sensitive. Kenny brooks owes Virginia tech nothing. I think he puts advancing women’s basketball as a sport is most important for him which is a business decision and that’s how you make money and are successful in any profession. Kentucky offered things that Tech couldn’t.

The fact people are mad for “weaponizing” the news; get your heads out of your butts. It’s one thing to troll about it but you all are taking it way too personal.

Fine for her to go out and speak her peace. But don't victimize the situation.

Unfortunate to hear about the cancer to their mother, because we all know ***** cancer.

VT fans aren't acting any different than every, single, other schools fanbase in the same situation. Some fans take their opinions further than others but every fanbase has their bad apples and VT is no exception.

No one asked for him to give a goodbye speach, a breakdown on his decision, an explanation of the series of events that led to him leaving. No one asked to understand how it played out behind closed doors. The narrative that we are acting like we are is just lazy.

We are criticizing the lack, of an almost unwrittern rule, of just getting the courtesy of a, Thank You, or a statement of appreciation for what was built between the fans and the program. We aren't the AD, we aren't the school president, we aren't the board of directors, we fans had nothing to do with anything that went down behind closed doors and any ill will that could exist between the family and the university doesnt include us.

We listened to him ask us fans for support, respect, and gratitude for the players that were building the program at VT. We listened. We spent our money and time to support this program more than we have ever done before.

Us just asking for the same mutual respect isn't just a reasonable ask, it's quite deserved. If that's not what he feels he needs to do, so be it, but don't act like a victim when he is criticized for it.

Do fans “owe” sitting coaches/teams/players their support and gratitude? I think so. And in return, I think a coach leaving owes that fanbase a thank you. Probably the reason why every other leaving coach besides this weirdo does it.

Yea, so now he’s just some other schmuck we get to talk ***** about. Clearly it hurts their fee-fees, or this girl wouldn’t be on Twitter trying to hand wave it away and get sympathy. If they wanted support, they should have shown grace when they left.

I find it amusing that VT'S fanbase is so bitter and butthurt over not getting a thank you/goodbye note from KB that they've taken it to social media where they know the family reads their.garbage and they don't give a damn and start venting their spleens at the family.

By the way. I'm an old guard VT fan who's been around since Columbus discovered America. I don't post much, simply scroll and read for the content.

If KB wants to show he cares about advancing women's sports, maybe take a second and do the bare minimum to thank the families and young girls that drove hours to support KB. Pretty terrible way to advance women's sports to reel in these fans and then show them they didn't mean a damn thing to him. Literally not worth 5 minutes of his time. Not to mention the donors that chipped in big time. All the fans that packed Cassell for gameday. KB cares all about KB just like Buzz cared all about Buzz. Coaches may not owe past fans anything, but fans certainly don't owe coaches an ounce of love the minute they leave either
